Pivotal Tracker ist eine „Software As a Service“ Lösung der Firma Pivotal Labs für agiles Projektmanagement und Zusammenarbeit. Projekte werden hier in Boards und Storys unterteilt. Das Tool stellt Funktionen, wie zum Beispiel Aufgabenverwaltung, File Sharing, Velocity Tracking und Iterationsplanung bereit. Es existiert eine API zur Nutzung in externen Anwendungen.
Die Erstellung und Abstimmung von Spezifikationen bzw. Pflichtenheften erfolgt oft normalsprachlich in Microsoft Word. Vor Umsetzungsbeginn mussten die Spezifikationsbestandteile bisher aufwändig in User Storys im Pivotal Tracker überführt werden.
